Manchester City draw FC Schalke in Champions League last 16

The Last 16 draws of biggest footballing competition are finally out. The teams have been decided, opponents sealed. Manchester City have been handed a Champions League tie against a German opponent, FC Schalke. The Blues of Manchester will be facing their German opponents in Champions League Round of 16.

The dates of first leg will be either 12/13 or 19/20 February, yet to be announced. But it is confirmed that the Blues will play their first game away and will be hosting their German opponents either on March 5/6 or 12/13.

Not to be over-confident by the fact that Schalke are not a German giant like Borussia Dortmund or Bayern Munich because of their history of producing prodigious belt of youngsters in recent years. One such player is our very own Leroy Sane who will be facing his former club for the first time.

A content full draw for the fans and considering the form we are in, an entry into the quarter finals seems certain. Let’s hope we perish our German rivals in style.
