Mikel Arteta to Arsenal is all but penned. Arsenal are about to announce Arteta’s signing in couple of days and have followed on the good work after having advance talks with Manchester City’s talent-spotter Sam Fagbemi.
Arteta is the one who who wants Fagbemi to join him at Arsenal and he is the reason why Arsenal are bidding high for Sam. With Guardiola conforming that Arteta is going to join Arsenal, the signing of Fagmebi seems a possibility too.
‘I’ve said many times, he’s an incredible person, a good manager, work ethic, that’s why he’s with us,’ Guardiola said on Tuesday. ‘He’s talking with Arsenal so I don’t know what’s going to happen.’
‘He was incredibly transparent and honest with me.’
The ups and downs of Freddie Ljungberg following the exit of Unai Emery has left Arsenal in disarray which has further increased the need of signing Arteta. However, Arteta is not the only one to be signed from Manchester City. The Gunners are also viewing Sam Fagbemi as a man to join Arteta.
The Daily Mail claims that Fagbemi, 25, who currently heads up City’s scouting strategy in the south, has received an offer to play a leading role in Arsenal’s youth recruitment approach.
Arsenal’s board have been impressed with the youngster’s analysis on players and the talks between both are already at an advanced stage.
Manchester City though are reluctant to sell their talent-spotter and are keen of him to stay. Sam Fagbemi helped City steal Sam Edozie, Darko Gyabi, Josh Wilson-Eshbrand and Ben Knight right from the hands of Arsenal.
