It’s been a long time since I have written purview a particular fixture, but as we edge towards Premier League return – Mikel Arteta has been speaking about his first managerial return to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City as the manager of Arsenal since leaving them to take over at N5 in midst of the ongoing campaign.

Manchester City hosting Arsenal is the first of rescheduled fixture on 17th June, being one of the two games to be shown live on television.

Arteta worked with Pep Guardiola for three years as his assistant where they enjoyed couple of Premier League triumphs among trophy laden years along side the Catalan master-mind. Mikel was touted to be Guardiola’s successor BUT Arsenal came calling and with all his emotion connections to the club – a return to Home was too good to turn down.

Arsenal speaking via SunSport, Arteta says returning to empty Etihad Stadium will be strange but definitely an emotional one: “Going back to Man City for the first time is going to be a very special day for me. I’m really looking forward to it. It will be very strange to be there without supporters. I don’t know what kind of energy will be generated around the stadium.”
