The Spanish giants Barcelona are trying to make a move for Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo, in a deal seeing Nelson Semedo heading in the opposite direction, according to the Telegraph.
Manchester City and Barcelona are supposedly teeing up for a swap deal that will involve full-backs Joao Cancelo and Nelson Semedo.
Barcelona chased the Portuguese defender in the last season too but were unsuccessful in going through. But this time it seems like the Blaugranas are more adamant in getting the defender and are ready to let go of Semedo.
Highly accurate reporter of Telegraph Mike McGrath recently reported that because of Coronavirus crisis, cash dealings among the clubs will reduce and therefore swap deals will take place.
Joao Cancelo has found it tough to get his life going under Pep Guardiola and so has been the problem with Nelson Semedo at Barcelona. The Frenchman has got pace and is someone who can get into Guardiola’s liking list pretty soon.
Earlier it was reported that Barcelona are trying to renew Nelson Semedo’s deal but with the turnaround of events it looks like a swap is surely on the cards.
There are other clubs like Inter Milan too who are interested in a swap deal with Barcelona. The Blaugranas are looking to find a Luis Suarez replacement and think of Lautaro Martinez as their most viable option.
