Manchester City’s best moments since 2010

Manchester-City-Best-Moments

Since Sheikh Mansour bought the club in 2008, Manchester City has grown stronger and stronger, becoming one of the powerhouses of English football. While it took them a couple of years to find their feet and invest in the right players and facilities for the club, they’ve turned into a well-oiled machine that doesn’t look like stopping anytime soon. The chance they took with certain player investments paid off just like taking a chance at a live casino uk, could pay off for some casino players.

Let’s take a look at some of Manchester City’s best moments since 2010:

THAT Aguero goal

We can’t talk about a “best of Man City” list without discussing that goal. After trailing 2-1 against relegation-threatened QPR for most of the game, it looked like Man City would bottle the Premier League title. They took a gamble and pushed everyone forward to try and turn the game around. The team equalised in the 90th minute through Edin Dzeko, but they still needed another goal to win the title. Step up Sergio Aguero, who scored at 93:20 to win the game and the Premier League title for Man City for the very first time. Without a doubt, the most dramatic way to win a Premier League title in the league’s history, let alone the club’s history.

While the first Premier League win is what people remember, arguably the most important trophy in their modern history is the FA Cup win in the 2010/11 season. It had been three years since Sheikh Mansour took over, and Man City had yet to win any silverware after hundreds of millions of pounds of investment. People were starting to wonder whether the money was being misspent and whether the investment group would give up on the project. However, in the 2010/11 season, Man City beat Man United 1-0 in the semi-final before beating Stoke City by the same scoreline to win their first trophy of the Sheikh Mansour era.

100 POINTS

By the 2017/18 season, Manchester City had gone through a relatively dry spell regarding trophies. They hadn’t won the league since the 2013/14 season, and their only trophy since that league title was the 2015/16 League Cup. However, they were still there or thereabouts when it came to fighting for titles, and in the 2017/18 season, everything seemed to fall into place. They had spent big to create a solid defensive lineup which paid off, as Man City only conceded 27 goals and lost 2 out of 38 games on their way to winning the title. With 32 wins and 4 draws, they reached an incredible total of 100 points, which had never been achieved in the Premier League.

Winning the 2021/22 Premier League

By now, Man City have become a ruthless trophy-winning machine. Coming into this season, they’d won three of the last four Premier League titles, and they looked the favourites to win another. Their closest contenders were Liverpool, who won the league in the 2019/20 season. The 2021/22 title went right down to the wire, as both teams matched each other every step of the way. It came down to the last game of the season, where Man City fought back after going 2-0 against Aston Villa to win 3-2 and claim yet another Premier League title.

Conclusion

After buying Erling Haaland from Dortmund, City now has a lethal finisher on their team – arguably the only thing they were missing from their squad last season. This puts them firm favourites to win yet another Premier League title and probably the League Cup and FA Cup. Perhaps this is the year they finally win that elusive Champions League trophy they’ve been chasing?
