According to reports, Manchester City are keeping a close watch on the progress of FC Midtjylland’s teenage defender Ousmane Diomande, who is currently on loan at Portuguese second-tier side Mafra.

Despite his young age, the 19-year-old Ivorian centre-back has been turning heads with his performances and is said to have attracted interest from some of Europe’s top clubs.

Ousmane Diomande has been in excellent form for Midtjylland, scoring regularly and showing off his skill and pace. The move for Diomande would not be easy for Man City, as several other clubs are also said to be interested in the player. Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Ajax are also said to be monitoring his situation, but City is believed to be leading the race for his signature.

The move would be a smart one for Manchester City, as Diomande has the potential to be a top-class defender in the future. The transfer fee for Diomande is rumoured to be around €15m, which is a relatively low fee for a player with his potential.

Manchester City’s scouting network seems to have found another hidden gem and the deal, if it happens, will be a clear indication of the club’s strategy to invest in young talents for the future.
