Manchester City’s full-back Joao Cancelo who is on loan at Barcelona is reportedly going to sign a permanent deal with the Spanish club.

According to the reports from Jose Alvarez reporting to El Chiringuito in Spain, it is stated that the Portuguese only wants to play for FC Barcelona in 2024 – when his current loan agreement from the Etihad Stadium expires.

Cancelo has been impressive under Xavi and for Barcelona; luring the Spaniard to sign him permanently. In his first three performances already, Cancelo has registered two goals and an assist already which has led to the Catalans wanting him for more and as their very own.

Barcelona have reportedly offered £35 million to Manchester City and a reply is yet to be received. It is also believed that City may raise the 29-year-old’s value to £70 million (the same they demanded in January 2023) if he continues to excel.

The Blaugranas too won’t find it easy getting the full-back. The Spanish giants will have to make sales in order to comply by the rules of FFP regulations of La Liga.

Joao Cancelo has been brilliant for Xavi and is a perfect candidate to rise the club back from their dire straits.
