Manchester City have suffered a huge blow in their pursuit of signing a Sergio Aguero replacement. While Lautaro Martinez was termed to be joining Pep Guardiola next summer; reports have confirmed that he won’t.
The Argentine striker rose to prominence after his stellar performances against Barcelona in Inter’s Champions League encounter. And according to Spanish news outlet Sport, Martinez will not join Manchester City.
Martinez has been linked with Pep Guardiola after reports of the manager being a huge fan of the youngster came into news.
But according to reports, the Argentine does not want to join Premier League and feels that his style of play will not suit England and also the reports of City being out of Champions League for two years have reduced his likeliness to join City.
Lautaro Martinez is a goal-scoring beast and has scored 16 goals in 31 games that he has played for Inter in a defensively dominant league like Seria A.
Inter striker if joins City will not be able to play Champions League before 2022/23 season and would therefore want to join Barcelona by the end of this term.
Manchester City would have to find a substitute striker of Aguero soon as his understudy Gabriel Jesus is also on the verge of leaving England for Juventus.
