Man City welcomes thousands of Cityzens at CFA to watch an open training session with Pep Guardiola and his squad as the Club officially kicked off the new season.
This was the first open training session held in Manchester under manager Pep Guardiola. City’s five new signings given a warm welcome by fans inside the Academy Stadium.
Before training the squad met fans and signed autographs.
City captain Kompany said: “It was fantastic to see so many fans at open training, the reception we received was incredible.
“Their support throughout the year will undoubtedly make a huge impact to our performances on the pitch, so coming out today for training to see them all was something the players and I were delighted to do.
“I hope they all had a fantastic day.”
The session was streamed on Facebook live to give fans around the world the chance to watch as the players were put through their paces.
The CFA was change completely into a football festival, for an afternoon of exciting activities ranging from football skill challenges to live entertainment with music and guest interviews.
Omar Berrada, Chief Operating Officer at City, said: “Manchester City is lucky to have so many incredible fans who support the Club day in and day out, so we wanted to create another season opener event to thank them for their loyalty.
“Welcoming them into City Football Academy to celebrate the start of what promises to be an exciting campaign was the perfect way to do that.”
