Manchester City reportedly had a last-minute attempt to sign Leicester City attacking midfielder James Maddison on the transfer deadline day, but their bid was rejected.

Pep Guardiola was looking to bring Maddison to the Etihad Stadium to bolster their midfield options.

James Maddison has been in impressive form for Leicester City this season, scoring 7 goals and 4 assists in 16 appearances. Despite Leicester’s struggles in the Premier League this campaign, his return to the lineup at the end of last month has been a boost for the club.

Additionally, it has been reported that Manchester City is interested in signing Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson, who has impressed in his debut Premier League season.

With Joao Cancelo’s loan move to Bayern Munich, Manchester City now have Nathan Ake, Sergio Gomez, and Aymeric Laporte as their only options for the left-back position. It remains to be seen if Man City will make a move for Robinson in the summer to add depth to the left-back position.
