Sergio Aguero to don his National “Blue” jersey

The veteran Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is back in the national squad after being rebuffed by the manager, post World Cup. Lionel Scaloni, the Argentine coach was forced to sign the 31-year-old back courtesy of a stupendous season where Aguero was constructive enough to win the domestic treble with City.

Aguero scored an enchanting tally of 21 goals in Premier League this season for the Blues which has bestowed him a spot in the Copa America Cup that is going to be held in Brazil.

The tournament will kick start from June 14 and will go on till July 7 where Argentina, yet again enter as firm favourites. The Messi-led squad and nation has not won the title since 1993, going closest in 2016 where they lost the finals to Chile in penalty shootout where Messi had struck outside the post.

The striking forte, Messi, Aguero and Dybala will be seen together after a long time and it is highly unlikely to see the three featuring together with Angel Di Maria swirling around.

For Aguero, however, it is a humble response to his form and there is no way he could have been returned with. In fact a call-up in the national squad is another trophy won for the treble winning striker.
