Who is Adrian Bernabe? Exciting attacking talent

Manchester City bought 17-year-old midfielder Adrian Bernabe in the summer from Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy.

But who is he?

Adrian Bernabe is a attacking midfielder who started his career with Spanish side Espanyol before joining Barcelona in 2013. With Espanyol he won best youth player on U12 level.

Manchester City raided Barcelona’s one of the most talented prospects, Adrian Bernabe on pre-agreement in April, 2018 which came into force after the end of 2017/18 campaign (June).

The 17-year-old midfielder was the part of Man City’s US pre-season tour, playing against Bayern Munich and impressing with touch and technical quality.

Manchester Evening News writer Simon Bajkowski wrote (on Adrian Bernabe for his display against Bayern): “The 17-year-old attacking midfielder only managed a brief run-out off the bench but that was all that was needed to show his potential.

“A gentle ball into Bernardo Silva, the awareness to stay in the move and find space to receive the ball again before finding the Portuguese international again and dummying to take a defender away from danger and seconds later the team were 3-2 up.”

Bernabe has settled in well into his life at Manchester, scoring for the Cityzens in his first start for the under-23 side in a 6-5 win against Arsenal.

He has made multiple appearances in his young Manchester City career, starting in Checkatrade Trophy defeat to Shrewsbury followed by starting against Lyon in the UEFA Youth League.

Bernabe also replaced Felix Nmecha in the 3-2 win over Derby County contributing by setting up 74th minute winner for Benjamin Garre.
