Sane’s Replacement Found? Burnley’s Wonder Kid Dwight McNeil

Premier League winners Manchester City are reportedly in the hunt to negotiate a deal for Burnley superstar Dwight McNeil in the summer transfer window as Leroy Sane has hinted at leaving the City of Manchester Stadium.

This season’s Premier League title race was one to remember as Liverpool and Manchester City fought tooth and nail with each other in order to attain the English title.

Pep Guardiola’s outfit secured the league title with a record 100 points the season before and strolled their way to achieving the feat with no other competitors in close proximity. But Jurgen Klopp’s Reds asked serious questions of City this term and finished just one point behind the leaders giving the blue half of Manchester a few nerves throughout the campaign.

City though completed a stunning domestic treble this season and became the first club in English history to do so. But Guardiola wants to keep up the high intensity and competition for starting berths in order to constantly get the best out of his players.

In a bid to strengthen his team, the 48-year-old Spaniard is targeting a move for English wonder kid Dwight McNeil who impressed under Sean Dyche this term. Due to McNeil’s notable displays for Burnley, the youngster earned a call up for the England U-20 national team earlier this year.

The 19-year-old made 26 appearances for the Clarets across all competitions this season and scored three goals as well as getting five more assists. The reason with Manchester City are keen on signing McNeil is because Guardiola wants to promote youth at the club and give them more responsibility to churn them into world class players for the foreseeable future.

McNeil looks like a player who has great potential and ability; he can operate on the left-hand side of midfield or play through the center as well in a playmaker’s role. Even Premier League duo of Arsenal and Everton are eyeing up a move for the teenage superstar McNeil but Manchester City is leading the race because of their massive transfer budget and power in the transfer market.
