Manchester City have successfully acquired the services of Claudio Gomes on free transfer after his contract expired with PSG.
Gomes is a highly rated defensive midfielder who begun training with City’s first team on their US pre-season tour, but the deal was only made official on Monday as the club decided to wait until his 18th birthday.
Though, Pep Guardiola has suggested a loan deal this season is highly likely for the French midfielder until he possesses something extra ordinary.
“He has been so good, so good,” Guardiola revealed before then suggesting a loan move is likely.
“My opinion is that at that age you have to play. You need minutes, if not with us then with the second team.
“But it could be like what happened with Phil Foden and Brahim Diaz – he could stay with us, because from what we have seen in these days, the impression is good, so good.”
