Manchester City in 2018-19 clinched English Premier League, FA Cup and EFL under the captaincy of the great, Vincent Kompany.

After thrashing defeat to Watford in FA Cup final by 6-0, Kompany announced officially on social media that it was the last match of his footballing career and will retire from now on.

But, workers retire from the job, not the ‘LEGENDS’. Hence, he will continue to pursue what he loves in a different form i.e., as player-manager of Anderlecht, his first football club at the national level.

The centre-back made 360 appearances and was always with City in their highs and lows. In 2011-12, Kompany was given the captaincy charge and with his leadership, the Club became the Champions of the Premier League after 44 years. Since then Mancity is witnessing a glorious journey and are termed as a ‘formidable team’.

4 trophies in the last 8 years. Things changed; the squad was restructured; Managers were sold and bought but the only thing that remained constant was Vincent Kompany and his armband. The captain’s band has realized the best out of Vincent in the years following 2011.

The 2013-14 title was also shared by the Citizens because of Vincent leading the way. The Belgian international was never tired of winning, and thus also won the League Cup final in the same year for his home alike team.

As Kompany started reaching the bad side of 30’s his appearances declined but his valor remained. The 2017-18 trophy followed by 2018-19 in which the game against Leicester will never be forgotten. Oww! That Strike. One gem of a shot. Extraordinary. Please have a look and rest you’ll agree with what I’ve written for a “Living Legend”

Kompany was bought at a nominal purchase by the Manchester City Club in 2008, but his prowess was not of that low-key. He has emerged as one of the greatest defenders and has been stardom because of his finesse. The renowned personality will always be commemorated by the Fans and has left a lasting impact on the football arena.

Vincent is a real hero as he not only takes the credit himself for reaching to the paramount. He is grateful to each and every soul who has supported him and motivated him to reach the peak.
