As the current football season winds down, the summer transfer window gradually draws near. Even before the window opens, the transfer rumours continue to dominate the media space with clubs linked with players across the world. Some clubs are already making moves to secure the signatures of some players who will drop into free agent come the end of June. Other teams are also making moves on hot targets in order to prevent a hike in player values and bidding wars that could drag on all summer. Players like Erling Haaland, Robert Lewandowski, Paul Pogba, Kylian Mbappe and Victor Osimhen are all garnering interest from top European clubs with contacts with representatives at various stages.

In England, a number of clubs are in unofficial talks with players in a bid to secure their targets in a summer window where prices are expected to shoot up. Manchester City have had their fair share of transfer links with some names linked with a move to Etihad while some names are linked with a move away from the Blues from Manchester as well.

Man City forward Gabriel Jesus is been linked with a move away from Etihad as Arsenal have opened up discussions to sign the Brazilian in summer transfer window.

Before his four goals against Watford over the weekend, Gabriel Jesus’ representatives were reportedly in talks with other clubs including Arsenal. Jesus’ agent Paulo Pitombeira has personally met with Arsenal technical director Edu to discuss a possible deal. These discussions are still at the preliminary stage and any deal likely to be agreed is going to take time.

The Gunners are in the market for a striker after the departure of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and the possible departure of Alexander Lacazette this summer. Gabriel Jesus has been in and out of the team during his time at the Etihad and could seek more minutes at a different club. Arsenal are ready to table a bid in the region of £35m, after being convinced that Gabriel Jesus would be open to joining especially if City’s pursuit of Erling Haaland or Harry Kane takes shape in the summer.

Aside Arsenal, reports in Spain indicate that Barcelona are interested in signing the Brazilian international. The progress of the move could be delayed as Barca will make their summer plans after the end of the current campaign.
