Manchester City make enquiry over Victor Osimhen move

Manchester City make an enquiry over a move for talented Napoli striker Victor Osimhen with many other clubs also in the fray.

Man City is a club that is never satisfied with the status quo, always looking to strengthen their already impressive squad. The recent reports linking the Premier League champions with a move for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen have sent waves of excitement through the blue half of Manchester.

Osimhen’s performances for Napoli this season have been nothing short of exceptional. The Nigerian striker has scored 21 goals and provided five assists in just 23 appearances, leading Napoli with his performances. His exploits have put him at the top of the Serie A charts, five goals ahead of closest challenger Lautaro Martinez.

It is no wonder that Manchester City is reportedly interested in bringing the 24-year-old to the Premier League this summer. The club’s quest for more firepower is understandable, especially with Gabriel Jesus moving to Arsenal in the January transfer window.

While Erling Braut Haaland and Julian Alvarez have both made an impact in their debut campaigns with the club, adding Osimhen to the mix would only make City’s attack even more formidable. The striker’s impressive scoring record and his ability to hold the ball up and bring others into play would be a valuable assets to Pep Guardiola’s side.

Of course, Man City is not the only club interested in Osimhen’s services. Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester United are also said to be monitoring the situation. Still, the Etihad Stadium could be the ideal destination for the Nigerian.

One potential stumbling block could be the transfer fee, with Napoli reportedly demanding €100m (£88.2m) for the striker’s services. However, given Manchester City’s financial power and their willingness to spend big on players they believe can take the club to the next level, a deal could be struck.

Victor Osimhen might also not want to come to Manchester City due to the presence of Erling Haaland. The Norwegian is a nailed down started and the Nigerian will know that with so many other clubs wanting him, it does not make sense to go to Pep Guardiola’s team.

Only time will tell if Osimhen will swap Napoli for Manchester City this summer. But, one thing is for sure, with the Nigerian striker’s goal-scoring prowess and Manchester City’s attacking prowess, the potential partnership could be a match made in heaven, should one of our existing strikers leave.
