Manchester City take on Olympiakos in the Champions League tonight, with the Citizens currently leading the Group C table having taken six points out of six so far.

Several Premier League managers from the “top six” clubs have called for the reintroduction of upto five substitutes in the league as players are picking up muscular injuries due to the congested fixture schedule.

Man City are set to face Liverpool this weekend and Pep will undoubtedly rest couple of his star players for the league fixture coming up.

Let’s have a look at how Pep Guardiola could lineup his side against Olympiakos tonight:

GOALKEEPER

Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson Moraes is the undisputed starter in net for Manchester City in the league and in Europe and will undoubtedly start against the Greek side.

DEFENDERS

Kyle Walker has been in excellent form of late as the Englishman blasted in a goal against Sheffield United on the weekend and will be expected to start at right-back.

Nathan Ake is back in contention after recovering from a groin injury and could be handed his Champions League debut against Olympiakos alongside Ruben Dias in defence.

Joao Cancelo will be rested for this fixture and Oleksandr Zinchenko will be given a start from left-back.

MIDFIELDERS

Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden both came off the bench against Sheffield United on Saturday and will be fielded in a three-man midfield alongside Ilkay Gündogan.

The return of De Bruyne has come at the perfect time with several City players suffering from fatigue due to the hectic pace of fixtures.

Phil Foden impressed during his brief stint against Sheffield United and is expected to start over Bernardo Silva in midfield.

Gündogan has started every match for City in the Champions League this season owing to his terrific work-rate and will play an important part in a holding midfield role while De Bruyne and Foden provide support to the attackers.

Youngster Ferran Torres will continue to lead the line in a false nine with Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez on either side of him.

20-year-old Torres has already picked up three goals and two assists in seven games for City and has proven to be a fantastic investment by the club.

Man City Predicted lineup: Ederson; Zinchenko, Ake, Ruben Dias, Walker; Gundogan, De Bruyne, Foden; Sterling, Ferran Torres, Mahrez.
