Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus has stated that the Manchester City should only be focused on their remaining games and not be too worried about Liverpool dropping points in the Premier League title race.
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are currently two points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool in the race for the title but they still have one more game in hand.
The two teams at the top of the Premier League table are at loggerheads with each other and applying relentless pressure on one another. But if Manchester City wins their five remaining fixtures, they will be crowned as champions of England for the second season in a row.
However, Liverpool has the easier run in for their last four games and Jurgen Klopp’s Merseyside outfit does not look like they will bow down and out without a fight.
Manchester City star striker Gabriel Jesus has now revealed that the English champions are not too worried about Liverpool dropping points. While speaking to news outlet ESPN Brazil, the 22-year-old said, “I don’t think we have to root against Liverpool, no. I think we’ve already passed that part of rooting against. I will not say that I want them to win, of course not. But I don’t think we have to worry about Liverpool. On the contrary, it depends on us.”
Jesus then went on to explain that if City holds the key to their own destiny if win their remaining games they will be champions, “We have five more games, five decisions. If we win all five games, we are the champions again. It just depends on us.”
