After Ilkay Gundogan, Barcelona has set their sights on another Manchester City player, Bernardo Silva. With the recent transfer of their captain to the Blaugranas, Man City is keen to avoid losing another key player to Xavi’s squad. However, Silva has been believed to be ‘interested’ in a move to Spain.

Barcelona’s interest in Manchester City’s players, exemplified by their signing of Ferran Torres, highlights Xavi’s admiration for the training methods of his former manager, Pep Guardiola. The pursuit of City’s talent suggests Xavi’s intention to shape a team that embodies his footballing philosophy.

Bernardo Silva has been rumored to move away from Manchester for a long time now and with Saudi clubs unable to stitch a deal with the Citizens, Barcelona looks to squeeze in and capture the opportunity.

The Portuguese international has also been linked with a move to Paris but that doesn’t seem to materialize as well. The Blaugranas too have Fair Play difficulties ahead of them and signing Bernardo is not going to be a cakewalk.

According to Bernardo’s dad, Barcelona had already made them an offer last season but it was too late to even consider. However, this time it’s not too late for the winger to travel to Spain and join his partner in crime Gundogan at Camp Nou.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola has already expressed his opinion on wanting Bernardo Silva to stay as he affirms him an instrumental role in the upcoming season, and with Kevin De Bruyne injured, Silva might prove to be their creative playmaker for the time being.
