D’Margio Wright-Phillips, son of former Manchester City striker Shaun Wright-Phillips, could be set for a permanent move away from the Etihad this summer, with Blackburn Rovers interested in his services.

He has already spent the second half of the season on a youth loan with the Riversiders – and as it stands it looks like Rovers are impressed by his potential in no time and want to bring him to Lancashire on a permanent move.

Wright-Phillips has been part of City’s youth setup for five years now, but a run in the first team has become difficult even for the best of academy players with Pep Guardiola at helm. Likes of Brahim Díaz and Jadon Sancho already left in search of more opportunities and it looks like they would have started a trend among the young City prospects with opportunities hard to come by.

Although it remains to be seen if D’Margio follows them out, but as it appears – Blackburn view the eighteen-year-old as a first-team prospect in the near future and are desperate to land him on permanent deal.
