Shakhtar Donetsk’s chief executive confirmed, Fred will either join Blue side or Red side of Manchester this summer.
Fred has been highly linked to a move to Manchester City since arrival of Pep Guardiola. It looked like he was on his way to Etihad this summer but the moved did not materialized and now it’s the civil war in Manchester for getting Fred’s signature.
Manchester United signed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal from under the nose of Pep Guardiola and the Spaniard won’t want to lose another of his target to long term rival Jose Mourinho.
The Shakhtar’s midfielder has impressed in the Champions League this season. He had recently scored one important Goal against AS Roma in the first leg of round of 16 clash in the UEFA Champions League.
“Fred will leave in July,” he said, as reported by Sporx. “If he does not go to Manchester City, he will go to Manchester United.
“Fred is ready to play in the strongest league [in Europe]. He is not only a very good player but also a very good professional. I would like him to have one more year in our team, but he is ready for a stronger league.”
