Bayern won’t rule out Leroy Sane move

A deal between Manchester City and Bayern Munich seemed over the line this summer, as Leroy Sane was all set to become he heftiest arrival in the city of Munich only for Sane’s untimely injury in the Community Shield win over Liverpool marking the start of football season in England though marking an end to Die Roten’s pursuit of Leroy for the time being.

Though, that doesn’t mean the Germans have dismissed their interest in Leroy and they will return for Leroy at some point, maybe in January or the next summer and should they wish to secure his signature – Bayern will have to write a big cheque to convince Pep Guardiola to sell Sane.

And Bayern Munich’s member of supervisory board – Edmund Stoiber, has indicated that club’s managemment will get all the needed backing if they choose to reopen Leroy’s case.

“There were discussions over Sane,” he confirmed to Sport Bild. “The unfortunate injury and the surgery he required for it broke the deal up.

“We’ll see how things develop. As chairman of the advisory board and a member of the supervisory board, I have great faith in the sporting leadership. If they propose a transfer of this magnitude, that is justified.”

Though Bayern will have to cash in something above that €100 million mark and Stoiber admits spending that sum would need assurance over their consistent competence in the Champions League.

“We knew what was required and that the fee was being pushed upwards,” he continued.

“But financial stability is the responsibility of our chief financial officer Jan-Christian Dreesen.”
